Argh!! Julia dressed up in one of her many outfits. She changes like 3 times a day and it’s always fun to see what she will come out of her room wearing. Rapunzel, Spiderman, and princess of sone sort are to name a few!
Dress up
Children are just sprouting. George is walking everywhere and seems to want to cause me more gray hair by hiding around corners and such. Not fun.
Julia is growing less and bounds. She is the actress I the family. Everyday she gets into character from the minute she wakes til her tired head rests. It’s lots of fun for her. All she has to do is see a character and presto…she goes to her room and comes out in costume. You can only imagine what that closet and room can look like.

She slept with spidy.
Hail to the Redskins
Finishing up summer
August is almost gone and summer has been grand. We have made 2 trips to the beach so far. Might try to squeeze a few more days in.

Julia has been having a great time. She is ready for school. So am I.
These little girl next to us had a nice Barbie setup. This was just the bar. There was also a pool, jacuzzi, lounge set. I would have totally dug this when I was younger.

George is almost walking. He is getting braver by the day and taking more steps by himself. I’d like to say I think I am ready for it!
My Rapunzel trying to smile but just can’t get it right on demand.

Some of my quick cell pics:
We had weekly swim lessons. I used Happy Swimmers. They are experienced at home swim instructors. Julia did great. It took her some time to get through putting her face under on her own. She finally did it and now wants to be in the deep water all the time. She never ceases to keep me on my toes.
Morning tea party a la goggles. She’s loving her goggles and Rapunzel. So much fun.
Sisterly love. Squishing her brother off the toy he was originally playing with. He’s learning not to take it with a little madness.
Practicing getting our eyes under with Bakou. Her little baby. Unfortunately we found Bakou alone in the baby pool a short while later.
Hopefully I’ll get more time to blog here soon. Funny how Summer just sucks you in.
Weddings and pirates. Ahoy.
Wow. I have been so busy away from home. We have traveled from a wedding, to the beach {so needed} and back home to celebrate the 4th. It has been a great start to summer and can’t wait for the rest.
My cousin got married and it was such a quaint and cozy reception. They had the reception outside of their beach house. It was adorable and happy. I loved the tents and all the yellow.

They designed and printed all the invites, programs and the table seat chart. If you look closely {which I think might be a bit hard} you would notice how they direct you to your table with first names only. Love it. So unique and simple. That’s the bartender. Bar made out of the shed. Way to out it to use.

If you ever want to plan a wedding in your yard, I suggest you do it, I can’t imagine how much money they saved and they didn’t have to do too much. Cater it, design it and get the tents {loved them}, tables and chairs. My cousin was so happy and married a wonderful girl. We wish them the best!
After we crammed in a wedding, we took of to the beach for a week. We figured if we are already traveling in the car with 2 young kids, why not keep it going. We are packed up and ready to roll. SO roll to the beach we did. And it was so worth it. So much has been going on at home with construction and stuff so this couldn’t have come at a better time.

So off to beach by ferry we traveled. Julia loved it. I love it too until I went inside to get a snack. Now I have grown up with sea legs on our fathers boat. Well this boat was not my friend. When we moving, the horizon was going up and down. Lordy, I was never happier to get to shore and out in the air.

We had the most perfect weather at the beach. Only a patch of rain and lots {I mean lots} of beach time. I can’t go to the beach without spending every minute I can out on the hot, but so great in your feet, sand. The kids did great. Julia had NO fear of the ocean or the crabs and jelly fish. She actually befriended a dead jelly. Don’t think she knew it was actually dead. Daddy helped her send it back home into the water.

George still isn’t fully walking so he pretty much napped and crawled around and tried to eat the beach. His diaper rash proved it. 2 days of it and all of a sudden I think he got the point.
We hit up a pirate ship adventure and I am still not sure how I felt about it. Didn’t know you would get wet when signing up so after I got sprayed full force from a seaman in a little boat outside our pirate ship, I hid in the bathroom with a screaming one year old. I came out of the bathroom after they sprayed water cannons off and on the ship. Sorry, no pictures of all the fun. The pirates were very serious and they didn’t take any crap from the kids. That was hilarious to see. I could use one as a nanny at home.

Snippets of the week
I hear ear infections get better as spring rolls around. Not so here. Poor little man has had it again and is off to an ENT for possible tubes. Seriously, if anyone can offer any advice on this please do.

So to just roll through it, we play outdoors. The weather has been tolerable this week so we took it easy and played in the yard.

Now my actual yard has been taken over by a dumpster. We had major water damage to the balcony and it leaked through to the pool {indoor pool is cover in pics}. Finally the indoor ceiling fell and this has been a huge undertaking for my husband. But thankfully he has had a very nice friend helping with the demolition.
Now who doesn’t like a bobcat? I want to get in and drive her around

After this week with daddy busy working, I decided to sneak away with my daughter alone and have a shopping, playground, lunch kinda morning.

And that is just what we needed. Leave the boys to do the work and escape with my little girl and have some fun. We had a great time and I realize after today how much it means to try yo get away for some girl time with Julia. I’m aiming to do this every week. Even if it’s for ice cream. I loved it and she did too! I’d have more iPhone pics but we has too much fun.
The little guy is next. What to do? Any ideas on an escape with a 14 month old boy?

Gotta love the it’s late and we need sleep mommy look. Do we have to smile? Love these babies.
Where has the time gone?
June already? I swear I feel like it is still May and I think my posts show for it.

I have great news regarding the family. We have a new baby niece, Zoe Ann. As much as I would love to post a photo, I will have to wait. I don’t want to put her up for all to see. Yet. I have yet to meet her and hope to make it out there this week. I have had a little sick one at home and want to make sure all is healthy on the home front.

School is over this week. It was a great experience to help out at her school this year. I have met so many other moms and parents and really feel that Julia has grown in leaps and bounds in the past 9 months. I am not sure what she will miss more, her teacher or her Spiderman costume {for now}.

Check out this pic of My MIL and my husband. I have to post it because it is just so childish and fun. I can not tell you how much fun a see-saw is still these days. This was at a family friends house recently and I found them all on the see-saw. Julia’s face says it all. George’s little legs kept moving as if he was biking when ever it would go up. It was really funny.

So I decided to look into see-saws for the yard. Just looking and I came across one at BJ’s. Check this one out!
I don’t really like to post photos of all of us as a family, but I have to as we never get a pic when we are all together. I gave my camera up to a young friend of mine and she was off. Didn’t get my camera back till the evening {and yes Click came back in one piece…I am brave}. There were a ton of photos on it and I had to delete many as they were out of focus or the lighting wasn’t good. But I did manage to keep this one. A rare photo of the gang. George is clipped off {novice behind the lens} but at least Julia is giving her cheese, I’m a looking a bit haggard and my husband will probably dislike me for posting this. Ohhhh wellll.

Summer is here {according to the weather} and it is getting hot. Just a reminder I need to get my beach planning skills on. Hoping to get there ASAP. I need sun, sand, and fun!
Loving her art
Lately, Julia has been really getting into drawing. I hear, “mommy, it’s you” or ” mommy, look at Georgie” and every-time I look it sure is a person. The head, hair, eyes, nose and mouth. Of course it is how a 3 year old would draw, but to me it’s a masterpiece. The beginning of her placing what she sees on paper. The beginning if her creative juices really beginning to flow.

This is a knight with a heart on it’s head. She actually drew a heart and added the mask. That’s my little Picasso.
Off to the races
What a beautiful time of year in Virginia. I can’t explain to you just how wonderful it is to breath in the fresh air of the country while having a little get together with friends and family. We went to Gold Cup this past weekend. It’s been a few years since we have attended this steeplechase event. Kids were born and the races were put on the back burner for now. But the day came and we jumped in the car with a newly potty-trained girl {who had to stop 3 times before we even got there…1 hour} first times a charm and little Georgie, hubby and wine and went to the races.
It was a great time and Julia loved the new friends and of course the pickup they all played in while having a great view of the horses.

Now she wants to buy a “pony”. I told her I want one too {since I was a little girl} and if she gets one we’ll share!
On a another picture note: check out my cuties! Love them. Hope you all had a great Mother’s day. I did!
