Weddings and pirates. Ahoy.

Wow. I have been so busy away from home. We have traveled from a wedding, to the beach {so needed} and back home to celebrate the 4th. It has been a great start to summer and can’t wait for the rest.

My cousin got married and it was such a quaint and cozy reception. They had the reception outside of their beach house. It was adorable and happy. I loved the tents and all the yellow.

They designed and printed all the invites, programs and the table seat chart. If you look closely {which I think might be a bit hard} you would notice how they direct you to your table with first names only. Love it. So unique and simple. That’s the bartender. Bar made out of the shed. Way to out it to use.

If you ever want to plan a wedding in your yard, I suggest you do it, I can’t imagine how much money they saved and they didn’t have to do too much. Cater it, design it and get the tents {loved them}, tables and chairs. My cousin was so happy and married a wonderful girl. We wish them the best!

After we crammed in a wedding, we took of to the beach for a week. We figured if we are already traveling in the car with 2 young kids, why not keep it going. We are packed up and ready to roll. SO roll to the beach we did. And it was so worth it. So much has been going on at home with construction and stuff so this couldn’t have come at a better time.

So off to beach by ferry we traveled. Julia loved it. I love it too until I went inside to get a snack. Now I have grown up with sea legs on our fathers boat. Well this boat was not my friend. When we moving, the horizon was going up and down. Lordy, I was never happier to get to shore and out in the air.

We had the most perfect weather at the beach. Only a patch of rain and lots {I mean lots} of beach time. I can’t go to the beach without spending every minute I can out on the hot, but so great in your feet, sand. The kids did great. Julia had NO fear of the ocean or the crabs and jelly fish. She actually befriended a dead jelly. Don’t think she knew it was actually dead. Daddy helped her send it back home into the water.

George still isn’t fully walking so he pretty much napped and crawled around and tried to eat the beach. His diaper rash proved it. 2 days of it and all of a sudden I think he got the point.

We hit up a pirate ship adventure and I am still not sure how I felt about it. Didn’t know you would get wet when signing up so after I got sprayed full force from a seaman in a little boat outside our pirate ship, I hid in the bathroom with a screaming one year old. I came out of the bathroom after they sprayed water cannons off and on the ship. Sorry, no pictures of all the fun. The pirates were very serious and they didn’t take any crap from the kids. That was hilarious to see. I could use one as a nanny at home.
